Hi

trying to import tax configuration in electronic reporting  getting the below error.

Object reference not set to an instance of the object

Is this a generic error related to the environment , or related to the function.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

In which counry/region do you operate your D365FO system?

The tax configuration is currently supported for India only.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

This is very generic error related to code. It means that something is trying to work with an object that hasn't been initialized. But it may be anything anywhere, therefore collecting more information (such as the call stack) is crucial.

I did not do any customisation , this was demo VM Downloaded. I have no clue why this error would come as the instance is, as is from the Demo VHD

I've been fighting with this stupid error randomly on and off and it's some issue with VS. To fix it:

    1. Close Visual Studio and any other Visual Studio components (VSHub, etc)
    2. Navigate to %LocalAppData% and delete the contents inside these two folders and open VS.
      1. %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio
      2. %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\VSCommon

Even after doing this, I received some weird VS errors and did a "Get Latest" and finally everything was fixed.

Check if License configuration keys are enabled.
