Hello Guys, I am new here.
I would just like to ask, is there a way that I can import PVZ files as my custom 3D model?
The 3D models that we have here are saved in PVZ format and I cannot find a way to convert them to GLB or GLTF..

I finished making my guide already its just that I dont have custom 3D models on it as I cant import them.

Any thoughts??

    KomatsuTTC,

I am guessing your are using some sort of Creo software that is how I have had to deal with PVZ files in the past. No you can't import PVZ files.

In terms of converting PVZ files in the past there a 3 ways I am familiar with converting them. (1) Creo makes an expensive module that opens up more converting formats. But we didn't test this because it was to expensive. (2) I know some people who have used the the Pixyz Software program but its not cheap (but less than the creo module) www.pixyz-software.com/.../

    3) we would just convert PVZ to another format such as FBX or OBJ first; then we would convert those to GLB or GLTF.

    Hi Ken,

    Good day.

    Thank you for answering.

Yes you are correct I'm using Creo Illustrate to get a 3D drawing from our products.

Regarding #3, is there any free software to convert PVZ to FBX or OBJ? then to GLB or GLTF?

    Hi KomatsuTTC,

I would look in to Blender. It also looks like there are a couple free online converters. Perhaps "Cesium". I will be curious to know what route you pick.

    Hi Ken,

    I'll try Blender.

As of now since I am in a hurry, i tried to open PVZ files using creo illustrate then save them as 3D model (.u3d).

Then I used pixyz and used a trial version of their studio. I opened the .u3d files via pixyz studio and export them as .fbx.

So far it works well.. But when trial version expires, i might consider other tools or might tell my boss to purchase. :D

Later i'll try to download and install blender and see if this works better.

Hi KomatsuTTC, Ken is correct that Guides doesn't support PVZ format. I haven't seen any free converters but I did find this thread on the PTC community site where other Creo users are asking for similar functionality. You may want to vote on the idea someone submitted, or track the thread in case someone else provides a good solution.  community.ptc.com/.../300336
