Hi All ,
AX 2012 R2
Accural Schemes - Calendar Type field type Calendar and Fiscal .
Could any one explain with an example the difference between these two options in the AX point of view ?
Thanks in advance.

Hello lally,
Has this one been answered or is there still something open where you need some feedback?
Ludwig
here is a simplified example that hopefully helps clarifying things.
Setup two accrual schemes - one with calender, the other one with fiscal.
Note that the fiscal year of the Company differs from the calendar year.
Record an invoice for 12000$ and make use of the accrual schemes => outcome is identical if the start date is the beginning of the fiscal year (01 April)
If the start date is 17 July, the calendar accrual scheme works as usual /expected.
Yet, the accrual scheme that refers to the fiscal year, comes up with the following result.
I would thus always go for the "calendar" option.
Does this make things clear?
If not, I would suggest that you setup some similar accrual schemes in a demo/test environment and do some additional testing to identify what might fit best for you.
Best regards,
Ludwig

Any reply from pioneers ?
That is what my point also as AX 2012 does not have the concept of Calendar , I think it has only Fiscal year only
Do you have any thought on difference between these and if you know explain with an example of Calendar and Fiscal in AX point of view ?
Hi lally,
1. If you select Calendar, accruals are made according to the calendar year and if you select fiscal, accruals are made according to the fiscal year that is defined in the Fiscal calendars form for the fiscal calendar that is selected in the Ledger form.
2. f you select Calendar in the Calendar type field, you need to select a posting frequency but in case of Fiscal in the Calendar type field, the Posting frequency field is not available. The posting frequency then is equal to the number of periods in the fiscal year, as defined in the Fiscal calendars form for the fiscal calendar that is selected in the Ledger form will work.
