Error during AX 2012 R3 CU13 upgrade

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade an AX 2012 R3 CU12 installation to CU13.

However, after the installation, the wizard tells me the installation failed:

2019_2D00_06_2D00_13-15_5F00_48_5F00_22_2D00_MEM-_2D00_-AX-2012-R3-latest-kernal-build-upgrade-log.docx-_2D00_-Word.png

The log file has this at the end:

AxUtil call is complete.
AxUtil call returned warnings:
An error occurred in writing to the event log on machine <SERVER>: Cannot open log for source 'Microsoft Dynamics AX - AXUtil'. You may not have write access.
Using AXUtil to connect to database "<MODEL DB>" on server "<SQL INSTANCE>".
Calling AxUtil to get list of installed models.
Using AXUtil to connect to database "<MODEL DB>" on server "<SQL INSTANCE>".
AxUtil call is complete.
An error occurred during setup of Model Database (<SQL INSTANCE>:<MODEL DB>).
Completed setup of Model Database.

 === Setup was completed successfully.

The log file pretty much tells me that everything was installed fine.

I noticed that X++ hotfix models were applied, but binary updates were not. I checked both binary and application updates at the start.

I'm installing this CU on a development server where multiple AOSes are installed. I currently need only one AOS server to be upgraded to CU13.

Does anyone have a clue how I can get around this and install both the binaries and application updates?

Where can I find more logging?

Thanks!

    Hi,

The article seems to be only related to the application hotfixes. I noticed that the kernel version number was not incremented as well.

In the mean time I've managed to do an upgrade from CU12 to CU13 in a VM where only one AOS service is installed on the machine.

Could the issue be related to upgrading one AOS service while others should still remain on CU12 while they're still up and running?

    Kr,

Are you running the update one by one or running parallel ?. Have you tried applying the database alone.
