"account number for transaction type fixed asset issue does not exist"

Posted on by 15

Hi.

When I try to post my an invoice against a PO, it gives me an error "account number for transaction type fixed asset issue does not exist".. I am not sure what it is as the account exsists and is active. And there was an entry in the exact same account couple of weeks back. I am not sure what is the problem here.

    Hello Waleed Fazal,

The solution what MATTGUO suggested, is the only solution to this case.

However; is there any chance that a main account was set before in this posting type and later (may be by mistake) somebody removed it from the inventory posting profile setup?

You can check this change if you already enabled the database log in your environment. However; this is a different concern. Meanwhile, you can check internally with your team if somebody has removed this or not.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

The invoice voucher had mainaccount and all the dimensions already assigned. In fact I just rechecked and the invoice voucher I posted a couple of weeks back and today's voucher have exact same mainaccount and dimensions.

    Hi Waleed,

    Is the item new?

Do you have the similar purchase order with fixed asset before and post invoice successfully?

If yes, please check the invoice voucher, the transaction type fixed asset issue should have a mainaccount.

If not, system requires you to set up the posting profile before posting invoice.

Different transactions require mainaccout for different transaction types, system will throw the related error log if mainaccount does not exist.

    That worked like a charm..

However I am still a bit confused. There was no posting profile before as well but it was working fine. How and why?

    Hello,

Please check if the mainaccount is filled in the post profile of fixed asset issue for the item?
