Create Employee and Contractor Subtypes

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

Is it possible to create subtypes of employees and contractors? I mean, I need to have Professional Trainee, for example.

The best option is that Professional Trainee would be a subtype of worker, is that possible? If not, is there a way to make Professional Trainee a subtype of employee (ONLY)?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Ana Alves.

    Hi Ana,

To have the same view with "Work history" tab as Erik does you need to enable feature called "Streamlined employee entry".

    I hope this has helped,

    Great!

This is more the backdoor on how to maintain in..

The normal process is directly on the worker from personnel management:

But this is different in your environment.

I would assume based on another feature that might need to be turned on.. or due to the fact you have an older environment?

Is this the only place where I can edit this field?

    Thanks.

    then:

    pastedimage1595415162748v2.png

you should be able to see the field:

I can't see what the problem is.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ana,

I'm not sure if this is due to the fact you have a trial version..

But if you navigate to System Administration > Feature Management..

(if this is available) you can turn these on.. and you should be able to use those fields.
