Using a 'Market Price'

Dynamics Nav 2018 on prem

We are looking for a field we can use to store a market price for a subset of our items.  The price shouldn't be affected by anything else - no processes should go back and change it automatically.  We need a price list that shows our internal price-per-pound magic number, that number being different for different items.  We might use outside API's to go in and change the number based on market forces.  But this price is just a base number that our sales reps will reference when coming up with quotes for customers.

Do you folks have any recommendations for what field(s) we should use?

Thanks in advance,

Louis
