Categorized search with custom entities

I'm trying to get the categorized search working for custom (virtual) entities, but, for some reason, those entities are not appearing in the list of searchable entities.

The custom entities are apperaring as expected in the old interface:

but in the unified interface, some of the custom entities are missing. I cannot figure out what's going wrong.

Did anyone face this issue in the past, and how did you get it resolved?  The entities are added to the categorized search list, the quick find filters have been modified to contain the fields I want to search on...

    Can you please confirm if you have added these custom(virtual) entities in the app (in which you were trying to access search).

    Any new entity created should be manually added in the app via app designer.

    That's the step that I was missing indeed. I feel stupid now.

    Wow! That's crazy, but it worked for me, too. Exactly the same issue.

    The custom entities were available in the sitemap, we could access them and use them completely normally, but they were not specifically listed in the app designer.

    Once I added them there - as if by magic, they were visible in the categorised and relevance search results.
