Microsoft dynamics NAV 2018 SMTP configuration using SENDGRID mail server.

Hi Team,

We are configuring the SMTP mail setup in NAV 2018. where we are trying to use SENDGRID mail server.

in SENDGRID every user name is default : APIKEY  and followed by its password

But If we try to configure the same in NAV SMTP details it immediately throws below error. As the application is expecting username@domain format in the user id tab.

Error: The mail system returned the following error: " The parameter 'address' cannot be an empty string parameter name address"

 

Can anyone help me weather the application supports SENDGRIP SMTP? or how to overcome the above scenario.

    SENDGRID (The Azure service) is not supported by the standard SMTP NAV codeunit.

    I suggest you to create a custom DLL (.NET) that interacts with SendGrid.

    I second this also seeing Exchange Online (Office365) is moving away from Basic Authentication which Dynamic NAV 2018 offers with the push of a button, it will not be supported anymore by October 1st. A different relay for external emails is a must and it would be nice in an upcoming release to see support for other relays like SendGrid.

    We are currently running the Dynamics NAV 2018 CU 55 August release (which at the time of this post is the latest OnPrem version)
