Recoding/Changing a posted invoice to a Project

Posted on by 45
Hi

I'm new to Dynamics.  I'm struggling to find out how to recode/amend the posting of an purchase invoice.  Any pointers to how?  Do I need to turn features on?

Many thanks in advance.

    Hey,

Just keep in mind that you need the project on the incoming invoice and not necessarily on the PO. I mean I would maintain it on the PO, however, the posted transaction from the invoice is being displayed on the posted transactions.
The PO is also being displayed on the Pending posted transactions, just fyi.

    Kind regards, Adis

Thank you for your time.  Much appreciated.   I'll try to amend some existing transactions against a project in our test system.

My main issue is where invoices have been processed against a PO where no project has been assigned.  I need to charge them to the project.  So far I've been lucky as we are a few days post live and I've managed to cancel PO's and raise fresh with projects but it will happen.

    Hi,

Can you tell us what exactly you want to adjust? You can adjust project transactions itself, or only project transactions on ledger levels.

Here is a quick guide how to adjust project transactions:

1: with Adjust transactions you can pull some lines by parameters (see below) for a given project
2: Under posted transactions you can select the exact line you want to adjust under Process\Adjust transactions

    1.: Click select
2.: select by parameters which project transactions you would like to see. You can select the appropriate line(s) to adjust them. Once done, all lines will appear in (4). You can select all of the lines or just one or multiple, depending which lines you would like to adjust.
3.: Click adjust. A form will open, where you can choose if you would like to change all lines with given parameters. F.e. you can tell the system to pull the sales prices, financial dimensions, line property etc. automatically. You can also leave everything to "No" and adjust the line(s) manually.
4.: As stated before, you will see here the originally transactions. You can select one, multiple or all lines here to adjust them.
5.: Here you will see a list of transactions from (4) which you can adjust manually, or they might be already changed, depending if you selected something under adjust (3).
6.: Once you are done comparing the original transactions from (4) and the new transactions from (5), you can post it.

    Kind regards, Adis
