When using Export to Excel, file downloads and auto-opens in Word

Good Morning,

If this is in the wrong forum, my apologies -

While using CRM 2016, I am trying to use the Export to Excel feature. It has been working just fine until this morning. I tried using the option today but when it downloads the file it is opening in Word and I am not understanding how to stop this?

Have you tried to open document or export on the other computer?

Hi,

I could replicate the same issue that you’re facing currently.

It seems that you might have chosen the default app as Microsoft Word application open exported file. Please change the default application as excel which will bring back to normalcy.

To change the default application as excel, right click on your exported file >> Click on “Open with” >> Choose Excel App>> Tick the checkbox for “always use this app” option>>Click OK.

After making the above changes, the exported file will again start to open in excel.
