Hi there,

I want to do some changes on a report. I developed a lot of reports and everything worked fine. Sudenly I got an error message when I try to build the report - I built the project, did some changes and got the error. Now I get the error on every report:

Cannot build model assembly 'ReportModel13.Model' because the project references an assembly with the same name as the one which will be built

I've tryed to fix the problem yesterday the whole day but I've not further ideas.

Thanks a lot!

I have faced the same issue and didn't find solution. Any updates?

You need to edit the File Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Design.Interaction.Targets in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\DynamicsTool:

    Search for the Line

    <Reference Include="Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.ManagedInterop" Condition="$(Language) != ''"/>

and comment it (<!-- at the beginning, --> at the end of the line).

This works for me an my colleagues. I'm in contact with MS cause of this case. Maybe they find an solution for this issue.

Did it stop working after installing some updates? Or do you have rigorous group policies?

Thanks for your reply. The solution doesn't work for me. Did you restart PC or AOS after the changes?

I'm not sure when it stopped working.

No, a restart was not necessary.

If you open a report for developing in VS do you have an reference to the Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.ManageIterop.DLL?

No, I don't have any references in VS. I have an additional warning message when the report is opened "The reference assemblies for framework ".NETFramework,Version=v4.5" were not found. To resolve this, install the SDK or Targeting Pack for this framework version or retarget your application to a version of the framework for which you have the SDK or Targeting Pack installed." but the .NetFramework 4.5.1 is already installed with targeting pack. Not sure if these messages are dependent to each other.

Ok, I got a message cause of different CPU architectures (AMD64 and x86). I think this is not the same problem. Did you install all the prerequisites of AX?

Markus, thank you for your help.

Updated: All prerequisites were installed and report building recently stopped working.

    Hello

Did you recently install .NET Framework 4.6.1?

    (KB3102467)

We heared about incompatibilities with some applications.

    Regards

    Hans-Peter

    No, I didn't. I have installed .Net framework 4.5.1 Multi-targeting pack.
