Hi all, 3 months after a go live, we have found some parts in stock that have not had a lot number assigned to them, how can I do this to an item that is in inventory?
Thanks

Hi,
I think you can use the Item Reclassification Journal to change or update the lot number of the existing inventory in the system.
Hi, it is not an editable field on my screen in that journal?
You must fist check if your item has "open" ledger entries. Then you must change the "Item tracking" tab for the tracking setup. And then go to "Item Reclass. Journal".
Good luck!!
Hi, this item has ledger entries against it, but with no lot number, I now need to add a lot number to this item in inventory
So, you can't change the tracking setup... right?
What you would need to do is First change the Item tracking for the Item(You will not be able to do that first attempt since Item Leger exists. You would need to comment the code behind that.) then go to the Item Reclassification Journal and go to Item Tracking and assign the new Lot No. to the open item ledger entries for that item.
No, if I go into the ledger entry, the lot no. field is blank, so nothing on the card etc to change!!!!
Hi Marley,
You must edit the Item (not ledger entries). Once in the item card, you must go to "Item tracking" tab, and there you should edit the tracking setup :-)
Hi, the item tracking has no records against it on this item, as it was originally entered without a lot number
Do you need a solution without customizations?? Because I supposed that you cannot change the item tracking setup, right?
