Hello GP Folks,

I hope all are safe and healthy !

We have been asked by our auditing team to find best possible options to implement AD authentication for GP user accounts. I know currently GP provides a way to link Active directory however it is applicable for only web client instead we want to apply active directory for GP desktop client as well. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the same question (0)

Dynamics GP 'desktop' doesn't have an option for using AD authentication like you can with Web Client and Identity Management.

I do know many customers have looked at FastPath's Config AD (I believe it is called.... ) which gives options for single sign-on for Dynamics GP desktop client. There may be others that the Community knows of and can mention, but we've heard of this one in the past.

    Thanks

    Preetham,

This question comes up pretty often in various forums on GP.. and Derek is correct, the only known product that can deal with AD authentication to logon to GP is Fastpath's Config AD. Setup is a little cumbersome and you may ask FP's assistance to do it, but once done, it works pretty well.

The GP web client is the only out-of-the-box way to use AD for GP login.. but it has it's own challenges as well.
