Discount plan per product family

Hi all,
 
I would like to create a customer discount plan, let's say "Plan A" that discounts as follows:
 
Product Family X: 10%
Porduct Family Y: 5%
Product Family Z: 20%
 
Plan B would discount as follows:
 
Product Family X: 12%
Porduct Family Y: 10%
Product Family Z: 20%
 
Etc. 
 
Is this possible?

    If selecting a plan entitles the customer to the discount regardless of quantity ordered, then I don't think you need Discount Lists at all, just multiple Price Lists with your specific pricing for each product inside the product family.
     
    You would create each Product as a Price List item separately and calculate the price with included % discount corresponding to your business decisions.
