Is there any difference when it comes to using BC SaaS using the App vs the Browser? The only advantage I can think of is that the APP is easy to find?

Hi, Since converting to a Progressive Web App-based desktop app, there is basically no difference in browsers.
More details:
How to install and use PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) with Edge
New desktop app (Base on the Progressive Web App)
Hope this helps as well.
Thanks.

In addition to what is already mentioned. I think the app is a good alternative where users are working in different Business Central environments. Because you can have several instansers of the app installed connected to each of your enviornments.
Then you will work with the different enviornments in seperate windows. For some users that might give them a better experience than different browser windows.
hi
there are some differences between using the Business Central SaaS app and the browser version. Here are a few key points to consider:
Accessibility: The Business Central SaaS app is designed to be more easily accessible than the browser version, especially on mobile devices. You can easily download the app from the app store or Google Play, whereas accessing the browser version on a mobile device can be more cumbersome.
Performance: The Business Central SaaS app can sometimes provide a faster and more streamlined experience than the browser version, especially when it comes to tasks like scanning barcodes or taking pictures.
Features: While the core features of Business Central are the same across the app and the browser version, there may be some differences in how those features are accessed or utilized. For example, the app may provide a more intuitive interface for certain tasks or may allow you to access certain features more quickly.
Customization: Depending on your specific needs, you may find it easier to customize the browser version of Business Central to meet your specific requirements. The app may be more limited in terms of customization options.
Overall, the choice between using the Business Central SaaS app vs. the browser version will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It's worth trying both options to see which one works best for you

Hi Samantha - Probably you've come across this link already, if not have a go at it: learn.microsoft.com/.../install-desktop-app
I do not see a lot of differences which will increase/decrease any user's productivity as such. You can also save a dedicated chrome icon on your desktop to open BC SaaS on a browser, without anyone having to go through the Office 365 way. You are right, the app is easy to find too
One specific use case that I can mention, where the difference would actually matter is when the users are seniors/aged. I had an interaction with a family-owned business where 2 people managing accounts were beyond 50 and 5 others just touching 50 from Sales & Purchase department, so the CEO of the company had mentioned this in their RFP that they needed something very easy for their senior staff to remember (like clicking an icon on their desktop) rather than opening the browser and searching their stored bookmark - that's where this BC App came into actual use case.
While everyone today is working on browsers, I think it makes more sense to just have a tab open on the left, while you work on the right hand side. It maybe time consuming to work on browsers and find a SaaS app installed on a desktop
