Year End Closing Error - because a check run is in progress. The year cannot be closed

I am getting the following error and am trying to figure out where / how to get rid of the check it is pointing to?

The exact error message is:  You cannot proceed with year-end create because a check run is in progress. The year cannot be closed

Dynamics GP 2013 R2

    Hi Prem,

    Have you run Checklink-Payroll-Payroll cheque work

    Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Maintenance >> Check Links

    Follow this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/KbView/851664 . It may solve your problem. Please keep good backup before running delete statement.

    Hi Prem,

    Open the Post Checks, or Process Remittance windows in GP. I've found checks in the middle of processing in those windows. Another thing to check is the batch window to see if you have any batches that are processing.

    Thanks all,

    I tried the check links and the post checks window but in vain. I resorted to running the scripts and that seem to have worked. However it seems like this is a recurring issue for this company. There are 4 companies in this GP instance - payroll is run from each of the 4. For some reason this company always has this issue. Any permanent solution or additional advise on why this may be happening frequently so we can avoid it altogether?
