Besides changing the regional setting what else you have done?

    well , i'm using Windows 7.0 professional SP 1.0 ,  I've tried :

    - change the ODBC settings > uncheck ( perform translation for character data)

    - in the control panel > Region and language > administrative >   language for non-Unicode > the language is Arabic

    - in the  control panel > Region and language > key board and language > he default input language is Arabic .

    all these didn't work

also when the user exporting the excel from smartlist , he press right ctrl + shift to switch the language

You mean you did all these below. Let me try it on my environment.

The Solution for exporting arabic data through smartlist to excel is the following:

1- Regional Settings should be in arabic

2- In Advanced tab, language for non-unicode should be arabic.

3- In ODBC setting for the GP Dynamics, uncheck "Perform translation for character data".

well , i just got it it's all with the control panel > region and language > setting the main language of the machine to (Arabic) , actually all others setting didn't make difference , it's just this one but i had to restart the GP for the changes to be applied which i didn't do :) .. any way many many thanks for your time an cooperation :)
