Hi all,

Did someone try Warehouse Mobile Devices Portal for Dynamics AX 2012 R3? In Contoso VM i tried to receive purchase order or transfer order and i had a problem with item ID recognition, the system recognize the purchase or transfer Number but not the item ID with this message error " The item ID is not valid "

Did i miss some parameter?

HI Ousssama,

It is working correctly for me. When you use item M9200 with e.g. vendor 104, you can use warehouse 51 (user 51) for it.

Otherwise, please share the steps and values you used.

The only thing I can think of that could have caused this, assuming your order is correct and has the item, is that you have another item, which has the same "Search name", as the value you type in as "Item number" on the mobile portal.

What happens is that it will try to search it by search name, and if it finds one that is the one it will return (if it comes first on the list)

Check to see that it is not the case. Otherwise, provide more details about the data you used.

Hi Andre,

I am also getting same error, on Warehouse mobile portal.

Do we have any specific setup required for items for warehouse portal processing..

if you explain any specific setup required will be great helpful

Oh. Well, a wild guess, but based on your question, it might be that you are unaware of the setup requirements

The mobile device portal can only be used with WHS-enabled items. That means, that this item needs to have a storage dimension group, where the setting "Use warehouse management processes" is marked.

The order should be for a warehouse, which has "Use warehouse management processes" marked.

Please share some printscreens or steps taken with the values used. As there are a lot of settings, I would like to know where you got stuck.

Check the Storage Dimension Group on your Released Product and verify that the group defined has "Use Warehouse Management Processes" enabled. You can also check this by seeing if there is a record in the WHSInventEnabled table for your item.

Hi All,

@ANDRE : I tried your exemple with M9200 product and it works, so i have checked some parameters in the product, it was on Storage Dimension Group, exactly " Use warehouse Management Processes " parameter.

@ROB : Exactly it was that parameter !

@Nitesh : check also "Unit sequence group ID" in the Item, -> Warehouse Management .

I managed to set the Storage Dimension to use the WMS/WAX proces... Unfortunately, I get an error message I cannot use WMS/WAX in combination with the AX "Catch Weight" functionality. What exactly is the problem here?

The new warehousing functionality (WAX) in R3 is not supported with Catch Weight items, therefore you cannot have an item that is enabled for both.
