Project - Cost price - hour by cost center

Hi,

I need to define cost centers as part of the project cost price definition form  Project - Cost price - hour .

The field is not on the form, and at the same time, the cost center information can not be part of the role or the category ID. If we will add this as a customization, then it will be huge because it has to be considered in every transaction of type hour.

Any ideas?

Thanks

    Hi Sam,

Why would a cost center be dimension for the hourly cost price? Usually a price per person or role is used. Can you explain your scenario? I would not recommend a customization as there are already a lot of attributes considered for the pricing, including a certain search order.

    Hello Sam,

Can't you simply setup cost prices at the employee level as Andre suggested.

You know the cost center that an employee is assigned to and have thus implicitly the cost center incorporated in the price setup table.

I could imagine adding a display field that shows the current cost center of the employee in the price table.

Modifying this cost price search will take you a long time and leaves a deep development footprint. Please think twice if this really necessary.

    Best regards

    Ludwig

    Hi,

We want to define a cost price per role rather than by resource, example Developer IT department, vs Developer Help desk. so the role will be developer and the cost center will be IT and help desk.

    Thanks

    Sam

As you yourself suggests then in stead of making one role Developer, then make two roles "Developer IT" and "Developer Help desk" etc. Basically variants of e.g. Developer per cost center. Then assign role "Developer IT" to those in IT on the employee.

It may give you a lot of roles....

Rather than try through customization to combine Developer and Cost center and do some calculations on hour cost prices.
