Automatically save email attachments to sharepoint documents folder using power automate flow

(1) ShareShare

We currently, when we remember, download attachments in Dynamics Professional, then upload them to the Sharepoint folder for that record (contact, account, opportunity, etc.). This is a hassle and we don't consistently do this, making finding the attachments later quite a pain.

We would like to have a flow created whereby the attachments are automatically saved to the related sharepoint folder, or alternatively we can run a flow that will do this, all to make this easier.

Is there some steps I should take to be able to do this?

Thanks,

Rick

It appears that you're interested in saving email attachments to SharePoint using a Power Automate
flow. While Power Automate is a viable option, it does require some technical expertise and can
involve handling various scenarios. Instead, we recommend considering our solution called
"Attach2Dynamics" which simplifies the process of migrating attachments from Dynamics CRM to
SharePoint through basic configurations. You can also save documents to Dropbox or Azure Blog
    Storage with this.

Attach2Dynamics offers multiple features, including uploading, downloading, drag-and-drop
functionality for files and folders, renaming, deleting, and more, all accessible through an intuitive
user interface. Additionally, it enables bulk attachment migration as well as the ability to move or
copy attachments within SharePoint, among other functionalities.

To learn more about Attach2Dynamics and evaluate our solution, please visit our website and
explore it on AppSource. Once you've installed Attach2Dynamics, refer to our documentation for

So you have the emails tracked to Dynamics, and you just need a way of getting them from Dynamics to SharePoint automatically, right?

For this, I think the best is having an app running in the background that ensures it is all automatic and does not depend on users remembering to do it. Given that you have attachments that may have been "left behind" in Dynamics, I would recommend https://www.connecting-software.com/cb-dynamics365-seamless-attachment-extractor/. This has a first-pass service that could handle the historical ones. Once that is done, you leave it running in the background, and it does as you mentioned, save documents to SharePoint. It actually goes one step further and replaces the documents in Dynamics with links to the documents in SharePoint. As it then deletes the document in Dynamics, it can be helpful in keeping Dynamics 365 storage under control.

    Hi,

Based on the information you provided, we can't understand your specific needs, do you want the attachments in Email to be automatically uploaded to Sharepoint or do you want the attachments to be automatically uploaded to Sharepoint when uploading attachments in Dynamics 365 "Lead, Contact, Account". to Sharepoint.

If your need is the first one I mentioned above, you can refer to the following article.
    https://rishonapowerplatform.com/2022/12/05/save-email-attachments-to-sharepoint-with-power-automate/#:~:text=Screenshot%20of%20Condition%20step%20in%20Power%20Automate%20Within,for%20where%20you%20wish%20to%20save%20the%20attachments.

If your requirement is the second one I mentioned above, you can enable "Sharepoint" integration in Advanced Settings and then set "Document Management Settings".

Here are some brief steps to help you understand better.
Step1, "Advanced -> Document Management -> Enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration".

Step2, Set "Document Management" to select the entity you need and the way to create the directory.

    Step3, Upload the test file

If your requirement is not within the scope of the above two, it is possible that our team misunderstood the information you provided, please provide more detailed information. Alternatively, you can seek technical support from Microsoft via the link below.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
