Fixed location in Purchase order.

Hi all !

we use Ax2012 R3 with warehouse managment.

I set a fixed location on my item, but when I create a new purchase order line, to receive this line, I need to precise the location on the line. There is a way to automatically fill the field with the fixed location set for the product ?

I don’t think you can setup a PO line default location using that feature. Fixed location is used in the replenishment process and put way strategies. You could try to customize this.

Hi Benoit,

If the Item and Warehouse are enabled for Warehouse management, AX will not automatically fill in any kind of location on a PO line (even if you use Warehouse items -> Default receipt location).

How are you receiving the items? If you're using the mobile device functionality, it would be easy to configure a Location directive to put the item away into a fixed location.

yes that's the point Guy, we are obliged to use our mobile device emulator to receive.

Note that Warehouse management does not oblige you to use the mobile device to receive if you don't want to.

Using Arrival overview -> Item arrival journal is a perfectly valid alternative. (I still can't get the fixed location onto the item arrival journal line for you, but its an alternative you might not have thought about).
