Hi All,

I need to send an overbudget email to group user after posting a journal. Any idea how to do this in the LedgerJournalPost class after performing the budget check? Thank you.

Why is that? Can't you use the standard budget control functionality to prevent budget overruns?

Yes, I have set the budget control functionality. But client wants to implement the email functionality as a reminder in case user misses the info log. Thank you.

Have you tried realizing this with an alert that you send for example to a central mailbox and distribute from there?

Hello Raymon,

I actived budget control, created a journal that exceeds the budget and did a budget control check.

Then I opened the budget check errors and warnings form from the journal and created this alert.

Have not tested this in detail but this might be a 'workaround' that does not require a system modification.

You would have to check and test this to verify whether it works out for the requirement you have.

Hi Crispin,

I did create a method inside the BudgetControlProcessor class in which I send the email if the budget exceeded. But I only need to send it after posting the journal (the one I tried was Payment Invoive). The method I developed sends the email each time a budget check error pops out. I have no idea how to send the email from a specific trigger like after posting a Journal not during creating one.

Hi Ludwig,

I think this will email user every time the budget check throws a budget exceeded error like if I modify the budget or validate the journal, right? I just need to send the email after posting.
