Hi All,
I am trying to setup an approval process whereby 1st approval is anyone from a group of 5 and then a Manager.
I have set up a Workflow user group where the 5 people are set to 1 and then the manager is set to 2. So any of the 5 can approve, and then the invoice needs to go to the Manager. So only 2 approvers needed, but 1 from the group first.
Anyone know how I can do this in workflow without power automate?
thanks
Anne
Hi Anne, Unfortunately, you have posted your question in wrong forum. This forum is for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance.
You can post your query in Business Central forum
Hi Mohit,
I really appreciate your help on this - I am in D365 Business Central and my screens look like the below (nothing like yours).
Hi Anne, Can you try adding workflow approval steps. Double click on the step and then add multiple approval steps within that step. The screenshots below are from D365 F&O
As you can see First Approval steps is 'Approve Sales quotation line' and within this steps are 4 approval steps (Basically same approval step copied from left navigation pane, rename it and changed assignment and conditions)
HI Mohit,
thanks for your response. Your suggestion sounds like it would work but sadly I am using Dynamics 365 not AX so I dont have these screens or the option for a "completion step". I am sure it can be done and I have tried setting 2 approval requests, but it keeps erroring. As we go live on Monday, I am having to set all the users with equal priority and will have to ask the final approver to only approve when 1 other does, and set the release to when there have been 2 approvals - will have to rely on the team to make sure only 1 does for the first stage. Hoping I can learn more and correct.
if you can send any screens shots from 365 that show the 2nd approval step that would be very much appreciated.
thanks
Anne
Hi, For reference to Ramit's suggestion, you can check below thread and create a user group, add your 5 users and in completion policy in workflow approval, set Single Approver.

You don't need another workflow but add another approval step.
check this out

That sounds great - but I am new to this - can you give me a bit more detail about how to create another workflow within it.
This is for a purchase invoice.
Much appreciate
Anne
Hi,
Create two workflow approval under the workflow setup.
One for assignment =user group where anyone can approve and the workflow will go to next approval.
Next approval you will keep the manager as assignement.
