Hi All,
 
I would like to understand with the new ML models, whether it is still possible to use the out-of-the-box functionality of Business Central when it comes to Demand Planning. What options there are using an Essentials license?

    When it comes to Demand Planning in Dynamics 365 Business Central, here's a breakdown of what you can (and can't) do with out-of-the-box functionality—especially when using the Essentials license and in light of evolving ML (Machine Learning) capabilities.
     
    I would always suggest using ISV app if you find one suits your requirement.
     
    Feature Essentials License Notes
    Requisition & Planning Worksheets ✅ Fully supported
    Manual Demand Forecasting ✅ Can import/export via Excel
    ML-Based Forecasting (built-in) ❌ Deprecated — use external services instead
    Integration with Azure ML or Power BI ✅ (custom work) Requires configuration & integration
    AppSource ISV Forecasting Extensions ✅
    Some are free, others may require licensing
