Project closure before PO invoice

Hi All,

I have observed that system doesn't allow user to Finish a project untill the Project Purchase Order is received (I have enabled prevent project closure parameter in PMA parameters), but the moment receipt is posted I can close the Project, now if I try to post an invoice for the same PO, system doesn't allow me to post the purchase invoice and gives an error - Project Stage Finished doesn't allow recording in this project.

Should system not stop user to close the project, until the PO is invoiced?

Hi Nakul,

If you post the receipt you should see a committed cost element on your project.

Before closing a project it is a good practice checking those committed costs.

Even if the system technically allows you closing a project, you should have a kind of procedure that you have to follow before you actually close it.

As this is not all system supported, you need to establish some guidelines that tell users what to do before they close a project or - alternatively - give only a couple of users the rights to close projects.
