Actual Labor Cost Not Calculating

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

We are testing PSA and have set up an internal project.

We have submitted 2 time sheets totaling 80 hours over 2 tasks.

The price list is set up and in the Actuals view you can see all of the time submitted to the project.

In addition, you can see that the price list has been applied in the Amounts column.

However, the total Actual Labor cost is not adding up to the individual task totals.

We have tried it if different browsers too just in case it was a browser issue.

Are we missing a checkbox or field somewhere?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Jason

    Hi Jason,

    This should work.

Check if OOTB workflows and plugins are enabled.

You can log a support request if it still doesn't work.

    Kind regards,

    Matthew

This turned out to be a software bug!

MS have said it will be addressed in future updates.

The workaround is to create WBS structures with at least 3 levels, which for us was fine but may not be for everyone.

    Hi,

Is there any update on this issue? Or someone found another workaround somehow?

    Hi,

I’m not aware of an update.
we are running with the three level WBS and it’s fine.

Hi Jason, Thank you for your answer. I've tried the 'three level WBS' but still no cost and billing estimates of the resources. Except when working with generic resources... See the screenshots below... Any idea?

    Hi,

Are the costs set up for the roles you have assigned each person?

As you probably know each user has to have a role assigned in the project

    with an associated cost.

You could also make sure that time entries are approved, which I guess they are.

Do you have a sandbox instance to test out other ideas or options?

This can help a lot as we used two test accounts to run tests,

A standard time entry user logged in via an incognito session in Chrome and then the supervisor

logged in a standard Chrome session. This allowed us to enter time and approve and see results directly and quickly. Just try a very basic project and see if the costs work, if so then move onto the next step until the issue appears.

Have you raised it with Microsoft? You can mention that I raised a similar issue last year.

Sorry I can't be more help.

    Regards,

    Jason
