Automatically updating Net weight value from BOM calculation

Hi,

Im trying to automatically update net weight in item details based on calculated value from a BOM calculation.

But when activating, only price is updated. i was expecting that it should also be possible to update net weight.

reading this KB, this is the functionality i want.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/974345

------

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009: you perform a price calculation for a bill of materials (BOM) item. For example, you calculate the price for a quantity of 100 pieces. Then, you active the Net weight feature for the costing version that is used in the price calculation. After you do this, the value in the Net weight field on the Setup tab of the BOM item is updated incorrectly. For example, the value is updated for the quantity of 100 pieces instead of 1 piece.

----

But i cannot find where to activate the Net weight feature on the costing version setup.. what am i missing?

thanks!

    Found it..

The BOM calculation has to be activated from the Costing version, and not from the item details form > item price. When activating from the Costing version in periodic form it is possible to select "Activate net weight".
