We need functionality that will allow the user to rename the document they are attaching via drag and drop in NAV and not have to rename the document before they attach it. so once the document has been dropped in the add-in box we need a dialog to come up that will allow the user to save that document with a different or the same name.

Can you please advise a solution/workaround in order to meet this requirement.

for that a customization is needed.

check, if you can edit the zetadocs factbox with addin control using your license. if not, contact your nav partner or zetadocs company for assitance. eventually a customization of the drag/drop-box control addin is needed.
