Hi guys!

I have a few questions about licenses. I want to set a customer self service portal and implement customer service module.

1.-Do I need to have Enterprise Licenses so that my users can follow up  on cases that were created from self service portal? Or with Professional license can i have these functionalities?

Looking forward to comments

Thanks

    Hello Fabiola!

As Leah already indicated, as long as you have 1GB of Database Capacity you should be able to provision the Customer Self Service portal.   However, before using you should consider the login types:

    - You can have External unauthenticated users.  This will require to purchase the addOn for Pageviews.

    - You can have External, Authenticated users.  This will require to purchase the Login Capacity AddOn.

    - finally, you can have Internal (authenticated) users.  Internal users require a valid license, either Dynamics 365 or PowerApps.

    This is documented on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/powerapps-flow-licensing-faq#can-you-share-more-details-regarding-the-new-power-apps-portals-licensing

Please note that according to Licensing guide, users with D365 Professional licenses will not be able to use the portal.  They will need an Enterprise or a PowerApps per user license:

    Hi Fabiola,

After the launch of Power Apps portals on October 1, 2019, Dynamics 365 portals are called as Power Apps portals. In other words, all portals are referred to as Power Apps portals.

One of the major changes introduced in portals after October 1, 2019 is the licensing model. Earlier, portals were licensed add-ons to Dynamics 365 apps while certain Dynamics 365 licenses included a default portal add-on. After October 1, 2019, portals are licensed based on usage. All existing portals will be part of a transition period based on current customer contract after which they'll need to be converted to a new licensing model.

For more detailed information, you can refer following link:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/overview#power-apps-portals-dynamics-365-portals-and-add-on-portals

    Regards,

    Leah Ju
