Display the "Connection" button on the subgrid of an inactive record

Posted on by 15

For "Connection" enabled entities, we can add "Connection" records through the "related" tab:

If the record is inactive, then the "button" is hidden:

This is by design and there are ways to display the button (at least for most of the entities) by following the Ribbon Workbench:

Enable plus button for subgrids on disabled forms

However for the Connection entity, I followed the steps and removed the “Mscrm.EntityFormIsEnabled” from Enable Rules for both buttons ("+" and "Connect") yet still can't display the "Connection" button for inactive record (see screenshot below):

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

    Hi,

You can always debug your ribbon button.

This is very simple approach than removing Enable/Display rule.

Thanks for your suggestion. I didn't try it but your approach should help narrow down the possible solutions. I ended up using a custom entity instead of using connection to manage the N:N since it's certain i can hide the button for custom entity.

    Hi SH Dynamics,

Remove enable rule and all display rules. Do not forget to take a backup. I think one of the enable rules or display rules is responsible for the purpose. Now you should be able to see the button. Add the rules one by one and find the rule responsible for the purpose.

If I answer your question then please mark it as verified.

Let me know if I can provide you with more details.

    Thanks
