Error: Access denied to method TRANSFER of class LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController in Ax 2012

Hi,

I have created a role which is non admin but have all the permission to execute project invoice tasks like ProjInvoiceProposal , ProjInvoiceMaintain etc privileges assigned. But users who are part of this role facing an error Access denied to method TRANSFER of class LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController in Ax 2012 while posting proj proposal invoice.But Admin users can do it without any problem.

After doing some initial research I found out that I should assigned method Transfer(of class LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController) in required privileges(part of my role) and give invoke permission type. But I discover that we can do this only for Static method and Transfer is non static method.

So now I don't know how to proceed ahead. kindly help.

Hi Manoj,

This is due to the permission to the class specified in the error. Navigate to the role, choose the privilege (transfer order) click "Override Permissions" at the header, click "Add Server Methods" and search for the class "LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController" click "filter", choose the search result and add.

Now you should be able to post the transfer order.

Hi Srikanth,

I had the same problem and the solution you privided works. However I would like to know what consequences this action has. What is eventually altered and does this have an effect on the CAL (functional user, enterprise user, etc...).

Indeed you can use override permissions, however, according to this article: daxpeng.blogspot.nl/.../override-permissions-in-role.html

it can slow down performance. We chose to solve it through the AOT (also because we can better 'see' what we're doing).

Navigate to Class: LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController and then select 'Transfer' method. Drag the method to the desired privilege (choose a privilege > permissions > server methods).

Marta's answer can be further refined as

1. Go to AOT

2. Open the Class LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController and expand to find TRANSFER method.

3. Open second AOT and find the specified Role under Security > Roles

4. Expand the specified role and under Permissions you will find Server Methods

5. Drag TRANSFER method from first AOT on Server Methods in second AOT
