How to find when inventory has been used (Do I use inventory aging?)

I am trying to use AX to see when times a certain part has been used within the last 30, 60, 120 days. Is inventory aging used for this? Or is there another way to figure out when the last time a part/part number has been used?

If not, what is inventory aging used for?

Best way is to read inventory transaction ( Inventory management > inquiries > transaction > transaction )  and do the following.

1, Filter Issued column with deducted or sold

    2. Filter Physical date column in ascending order  ( latest dates first )

You will find the last status of inventory has reduced .

inventory ageing is used to derive the stock on hand for the given period and its impact for intervals

    Hi,

Do you track financial inventory values at the warehouse level?

For looking at inventory dimensions, such at sites, warehouses, the is the inventory by inventory dimension aging report available.

Yet, the report will only help if you track financial inventory values at the warehouse level as configured in the storage dimension groups.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

For the first option (inventory by item group aging) is there a way to look at one certain warehouse?

    Hello khess580,

In AX2012 you have the inventory by item group / inventory dimension reports available in the inventory module under Reports/Status/Inventory value. You can find an explanatory video for the first one here: organicax.com/.../inventory-by-item-group-aging-report

There is also a country-specific inventory aging report available for CHN that you might want to investigate as it can be made available for other countries.

    For details, see: docs.microsoft.com/.../chn-inventory-aging-report

Finally, we have the inventory value cube available (see: docs.microsoft.com/.../inventory-value-cube-inventvaluecube-for-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-r2-and-r3) that provides you probably with the best and most advanced analysis functionalities.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Khess580,

The Inventory Aging Report provides the inventory age (i.e. how old is the inventory based on your receipt dates). In order to identify when certain part has been used, you shouldn't use aging report.

In D365FO, on released products page, on sell tab (Ribbon), check out "Period statistics", that can give you the details on when something was purchase / sold. you can add your own buckets but information is on item by item basis.. if you need something across SKU's, you may have to look at other options (probably building a report OR using something like PowerBI for reporting). Hope this helps.
