NAVDEMO Object Design Authotificaion and SQL Error

I have installed the SQL server 2012 and add the NAVdemo under the database of the SQL server. I have also assigned the user to administrator right to the NAVDEMO.

Then I installed the Demo of the NAV2013. After I open the Microsoft Development

I can only use the window authentification to login, but not the SQL authentifiation.

If I select the SQL authentification, I have an error as below:

error 18456 2800 microsoft sql server native client 1000 sql server log failed

if SQL authentification is selected.

After I access the object design, I cannot do anything since it says I don't have the right.

Please help!

In the New NAV2013, is the object designer separate from the application? Thank you!

What type of license are you using ?

    1. Demo

    2. Partner

    3. Customer

To check login using the IDE and click on tools - license information.

Yes you are correct, in NAV 2013 the Object designer is separate from the application.

    hi,

Are you using Cronus Demo licence ?

Are you using sql server with mixed mode authenticathion?

error 18456 is remote access error for sql logins

    Check on error message

    anonymous Logins,

firewall& sql ports problems ex: sql port 1433, etc.

    surface area configuration

Try to use NETWORK SERVICE user for SQL Server & NAV Services, map this user & SYSTEM user  into NAV users

Try to delete all user on database and all NAV user personalization & metadata

(see NAV Team blog post Manually restoring the NAV 2013 Demo Database)

    Connection testing environment

Try to connect using Default instead of TCP

Try to connect with Sql "SA" supeuser

add user on database Logins (if dbo user is missing)

try to remap credentials on NAVdemo db to SA dbo from SQL Management Studio

    To test

    - make a backup of Cronus ,bck using windows user

    - create a NEW Db using SA sql user and after load Cronus licence into this db

    - restore Cronus Backup .fdb into the nw db

    - try to open from developer enviroment with SA

    Thank you all!

It is licensed to Microsoft Corporation. So it sounds like the license is not right. How to fix it?

    Thank you!

Before I follow your instrucitons, I need to let  you know the setting.

I installed microsfot SQL server 2012 and I have tried both mode setting in the SQL

Server Management Studio. Below is what I have tried. But neither of them worked.

    SQL server Management Studio

Login info: Server Type: Database Type

    Authentification: Windows Authentification

    The security properties setting

    server authentification: Windows authentification mode

    login auditing: none

But if I am using SQL Server Authentification to login into the SQL Server Management Studio, I cannot login and the error is as below:

A connecton was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (Provider: shared memeory provider, error: 0 - no process is on the other end of the pipe) (Microsoft SQL server, Error 233)

No process is on the other end of the pipe.

    The security properties setting

server authentification: SQL Server and Windows authentification mode

    Please advise! Thank you!
