Hello,
I hope everyone is having good holiday season .
I am trying to create new company in GP and so far I have created company in GP on multiple occasions but every time I did it during our maintenance window which means with all proper backups(VM snapshots, DB backups etc) in place and with all service accounts being disabled except sa . This time we don’t have scheduled maintenance activity and our users wants us to create it as soon as possible so I would like to request GP experts comments on below questions ,
-- Per my knowledge creating new company clearly update/insert rows in Dynamics db , So can we still open GP utilities and create new company while other accounts are enabled ? and while other users are working in other companies ? and while integrations to GP are going on?
-- Will there be any effect to existing companies while we are creating new company ?
-- Finally would it be even suggestible to perform Create new company without having any backups are in place ?
