Cannot print any GP report to screen

ReportReport

When we try to print an unmodified report in GP to the screen the system hangs. We cannot look at process monitor as we cannot move. I have left it 24 hours and still nothing. I have done the following so far to troubleshoot:

  1. Rebuilt the reports dictionary (even though it was not a modified report).
  2. Verified that security was not pointing to a modified report.
  3. tested with other users who also have the same problem (including sa)
  4. Verified that I can print to the printer or to a file (only the print to screen seems to be an issue)

Any thoughts on what else I can try?

    And before that, were these reports working fine? Did you installed anything? any Add-on or any update?

    Are you using Word Templates?

    Also check existing post on similar kind of issues. Like below one and others.

    Are you saying all of your workstations can no longer print to the screen? How about your server? I would start with one workstation and restart it. If the problem remains take the dex.ini off the server and copy it to a workstation.

    Make sure no other instances of GP are running using Task Manager. Sounds like screen output has been directed off the screen.

    WindowPosX=130

    WindowPosY=130

    WindowWidth=800

    WindowHeight=600

    Look for lines like this in your dex.ini. If they exist remove them.

    The dex.ini file is clean. This is a clean install of GP. We installed GP on our new server, then copied over setup tables as required so our new GP would match our old. we are doing this because we are dropping a 3 party add on. Obviously we did not copy over any 3rd party tables not do any of the tables exist as we did not install the  third 3rd party add on. If it matters the product we dropped was Wennsoft (key2act).

    So right now we only have access through a RDC connection into the SQL server (which has a client installed). We verified that none of the 3rd party reports dictionaries are loaded and also that the are no references to that product in security (not that we would expect either).
