Production waves are created but no inventory on stock to pick.

hi,

We have encountered the next situation and believe it is a bug. Maybe other people also encounter this situation. We have a production order with 10 different items of which 1 is not sufficient in stock. We do allow 'allow partially release'. Then we release the production order to the warehouse and a new wave is created. However, executing the wave is not possible as there is no stock. We get error message "The total quantity for production BOM x could not be fulfilled." Which is correct as we do not have stock for that production order. However, the wave should not have been created for this item. We are now in a deadlock since we have production waves created, but we do not pick them. We would expect no wave is created if no work can be done in the warehouse for that part.

Any ideas?

The other dead lock is produced with this message: Production BOM x cannot be added to a wave because it is already associated with a wave that has not been executed.

Does your item model group for the offending items allow negative physical inventory? I've seen that this will allow warehouse mgmt to create a "Reserved Physical" reservation, even though there are 0 on hand, then when the wave / work creates it fails as you describe.

We do not allow 'negative physical inventory' and have ax 2012R3. Nice feature since we need this functionality also. But for this we still have the problem.
