No transactions behind a ProdBOM (Picking list)

Hi,

today i wanted to create a marking and link a ProdBOM to a purchase order line...but this is not possible anymore because the InventTransOrigin referenced by the ProdBOM doesn't exist. There are no transactions although it was consumed by the production order at startup. There is a posted picking list. What could be the reason for this behaviour? The production order ist still "Started" and the purchase order is still 'Open'. The item is a service item (subcontractor) so there will never be on-hand inventory, but i would still expect transactions.

What did i miss?

Regards

Nils

    Hi Nils,

Is it a service item or a non-stocked item (item type 'item' and item model group 'non-stocked)?

IS the BOM only containing service items or also normal items. Are other production BOMs correct for other production orders?

    Hi Andre,

thanks for replay. I'm not at work right now but i can say it is a non stocked service-item. The BOM consists of 'normal' items and this service item. This service item is used many BOM's and i think most of the time it works out. But i have to check all the properties tomorrow morning so i can be sure about it.

    Regards

    Nils

    Hi Nils,

'Service' item means don't track On-hand for this item.

'Non-stocked' on the model group means don't create Inventory transactions.

I think that BOM lines for service items would normally want to have a 'Stocked' model group.

    Hi Nils,

I think Guy is correct here. There is a blog which would be very interesting to read on this topic: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../service-products-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012

    Hi Andre, Hi Guy,

you were right about the item model group. It is a stocked service item. I'm going to check out the link you posted.

And there are a lot of transactions. In some cases the transactions seem to disappear. Below a is one example.

...but there is no InventTransOrigin 000525375.

I randomly picked another production order containing this item in it's BOM and there are transactions.

Pls look for posted Prod Picking list with null quantity and marked checkbox End

    Hi Rafal,

    that was a good hint!

There is a picking list with no qty and marked "End". It was the last feedback in this production order. Something must have went wrong at startup. The "flushing principle" for this BOM is set to "Start". But there was no consumption at startup. This should be done automatically?

It should been consumed when you start your Production Order.

This is the way that I remove unwanted transactions from Master Planning so i was almost sure that this is the problem.

You can try to check that you had enough material on stock f.e.

You can read this very nice article about that :

Have a nice day Nils :)
