What are the Excel versions supported in Dynamics 365 F&O for Excel add-in to work

Dear 365 Experts,

I cannot successfully use the function 'OPEN LINES in EXCEL' to export my General Journal entry to Excel. 

After I click the Open lines in Excel and on Excel screen it only shows 'Error loading Add-ins'  and I was not also prompted to type my login credential.  I clicked sign-in but the screen seems to hang and cannot proceed.

I just want to rule out if this is an Excel version issue...  May I know what are the Excel version that works with Dynamics 365 F&O.  The Excel version I am using is MS Office 365 Pro Plus.

    Hi Nikolaos,

    Thanks for your reply.  This means that Excel or Word Add-ins for D365 Finance & Operations only works for Office 2016 thus Office 365 is not supported ?

    Thanks for your reply.   I will take a look at the link your provided.  Does this mean that Excel & Word Add-ins for Dynamics 365 F&O will work seamlessly if on Office 2016 only?  Thus Office 365 is not supported ?

    The following Microsoft Office applications are supported in cloud and on-premises deployments of Finance and Operations:

    • To run the Microsoft Excel and Word add-ins, you must have Microsoft Office 2016 for Windows installed. For more information about version requirements, see Office integration troubleshooting.
    • To view documents that are generated by the Export to Excel or Export to Word functionality, you must have Microsoft Office 2007 or later installed.
