Bundle Pricing Issue - Not Bringing In Pricing of Individual Products

I am completely lost on where to go from here....

I have products, then have prices, and are on the default price list.

I create a bundle with these products and publish it.

If I try to add the bundle to a quote then it says the bundle cannot be added because it is not on the default price list. So I go back to the bundle and add it to the price list, but by doing so it forces me to add a manually added price to the bundle.

I go back to the quote, add the bundle, and it adds the high-level bundle price and the bundle products get added all as $0 items. If you see the products in the product list they have prices....

What am i missing?!

Bundle Pricing Issue - Not Bringing In Pricing of Individual Products
    Hello everyone,
I understand from Daivat answer that the system will not calculate the bundle price based on the item prices :
    "
    • Dynamics 365 doesn't automatically calculate the bundle's price based on the component product prices."

However, what I understand from this post from Microsoft is the opposite :
"When a product bundle is added to an opportunity, quote, order, or invoice, the bundle price is calculated based on the required products in the bundle. "

When I try myself, as Daivat says, the price of the bundle is set to 0 if I dont add a price manually, it does not calculate the price, nor the cost, from the required items constituting the bundle.

Does it mean that the Microsoft user manual is wrong ? or is it my understanding that is wrong ?
Many thanks in advance for everyone's support.

Also, your explanation makes sense, but why does this Microsoft Learn describe it as it calculating pricing for the bundle based on the pricing of individual items? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales/pricing-product-bundles

Bundle Pricing Issue - Not Bringing In Pricing of Individual Products
    Hello NK-18111617-0,

You've hit upon a common and frustrating quirk with product bundles and price lists in Dynamics 365 Sales. Here's a breakdown of what's happening and how to fix it:

    Understanding the Issue:

    1. Bundle Price List Requirements:

      • Product bundles, unlike individual products, require an explicit price list association to be added to quotes.
      • Even if the constituent products are on the default price list, the bundle itself must also be added.

    2. Forced Bundle Price:

      • When you add a bundle to a price list, Dynamics 365 requires you to enter a "List Price" for the bundle. This is the overall price of the bundle.

    3. Zero-Dollar Component Products:

      • The issue arises because the system prioritizes the bundle's "List Price" over the individual product prices.
      • When the bundle is added to the quote, the system treats the component products as "included" and therefore assigns them a $0 price.

    What You're Missing:

    • Bundle Price Calculation:

      • Dynamics 365 doesn't automatically calculate the bundle's price based on the component product prices.
      • You must manually enter the bundle's price or use a workaround.

    Solutions:

    1. Manually Calculate and Enter the Bundle Price:

      • The simplest solution is to manually calculate the total price of the component products and enter that as the bundle's "List Price" on the price list.
      • This ensures that the bundle's price is accurate.

    2. Use Discount Lists (Workaround):

      • Instead of relying solely on the bundle's "List Price," you can use discount lists to adjust the component product prices.
      • Create a discount list that applies a discount to the component products when they're part of the bundle.
      • This allows you to maintain the individual product prices while still offering a bundled discount.
      • This is a more complex solution, but it provides more flexibility.

    3. JavaScript Customization (Advanced):

      • You could use JavaScript to automatically calculate the bundle's price based on the component product prices.
      • This would involve writing JavaScript code that runs when the bundle is added to the price list.
      • This is a more advanced solution and requires development skills.

    4. Power Automate (Advanced):

      • You could use a power automate flow to update the price list item of the bundle.
      • This flow could be triggered when a bundle is updated, or when a price list item is created.
      • The flow could then sum the price list items of the products that are associated to the bundle, and update the price list item of the bundle.

      •

    Recommendations:

    • For most scenarios, manually calculating and entering the bundle price is the easiest and most practical solution.
    • If you need more advanced pricing control, consider using discount lists.
    • Use javascript, or power automate only if you have the development resources, and very complex needs.

Bundle Pricing Issue - Not Bringing In Pricing of Individual Products
    Hello Friend,

Ensure All Products Are on the Default Price List: Before creating the bundle, make sure all individual products are on the default price list with their respective prices.
Create the Bundle: When you create the bundle, add the products that are already on the default price list. This ensures that the bundle recognizes the prices of the individual products.
Add the Bundle to the Default Price List: After creating the bundle, add it to the default price list. You might be prompted to add a price for the bundle. This price can be a total or discounted price for the entire bundle.
Check Bundle Pricing Settings: Ensure that the bundle pricing settings are configured correctly. The bundle price should reflect the sum of the individual product prices or a discounted price if applicable.
Add the Bundle to the Quote: Now, when you add the bundle to the quote, it should recognize the prices of the individual products and not show them as $0 items.
