Posted on by 25

Can we filter connection role based on account and contact entity?

For example,If I click "CONNECT" From account record it should display Account related Connection role  only in roleto look up field.

    Hi partner,

Take the two Connection Roles "Component" and "Employer" as an example.

"Employer" is the Connection Role of Account, but "Component" is not.

So when we select an Account record for "Connect To", and then search "Role To", we can only see the Connection Role of Account, including "Employer", but not "Component".

When we select "Component" for "Role To" first, then search "Connect To", we can see all entity types including Account and select Account record. But when save it, it will display an error.

    Hi partner,

The role to look up field is automatically filtered based on the value of the Connect To field.

When you select the Connect To field, the Role To field will be automatically filtered to the roles matched by the Connect To value. If you select Role To first, then the Connect To field will not perform any filtering.

In other words, the correct order to fill in the fields of Connection is to first select Connect To, and then select Role To. Even if you compulsorily add an Account-related filter for Role To, then we can still select non-Account records for Connect To.
