Dynamics Marketing Customer Journey backend sending-process

Hi!

I got a question regarding the customer journey.

Do you know how microsoft sends out an email to a defined segment once the journey is started (without any tile triggers).

What I mean is if there are 1000 contacts in my segment, does micosoft send the email out at once to all of these 1000 contacts after starting the journey? Or is microsoft proceeding the segments in "smaller" portions that are send out?

    Based on feedback from other users, a split-segment will be sent, but the exact logic is not explicitly stated.
