Hi,

I want to change the order of financial dimensions in all forms(P.O, S.O, etc). By default it is showing in Alphabetical order. My client wants to change the order.

For Example:

Lets assume I have financial dimensions

1. BusinessUnit

2. Costcenter

3. Department

*I want to change the order to

1.Department

2.Costcenter

3.BusinessUnit

Can anyone help me with this issue. In D365 FO  by default its showing in alphabetical order. Even though i configured account structures. I know if we create financial dimension sets we can change the order but thats only for reports. i want in forms also.

I have the same question (0)

You can also make findim as

    A_Department

    B_Costcenter

    C_BusinessUnit

    Ludwig,

Thanks for the correction on master files.  I was incorrect on the master files.  It that the postings will be correct, the order of the master files should no matter.  As you also have pointed out.

    Hi Nikita,

I think my blog post will help you out for defining the order: kaya-consulting.com/manage-the-order-of-default-dimensions-on-forms-ax-2012

    Hello Nikita,

When it comes to customers, vendors, projects, etc. The findims are all shown in alphabetical order.

Changing this requires a system modification.

Before doing that since twice whether this is really needed because this alphabetical order affects the master data only.

It does not affect your accounting transactions that depend on the account structures that Ron mentioned.

It might be a lot of time and effort necessary to realize this and the value added through such an adjustment is at best 'small'.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Nikita,

The changing of the account structures should change the order.  To verify this you can enter a general journal to verify.  This also should be reflected in your other dimension settings like customer, item, and vendor once activated.  It may not change what has already been posted.  Please verify if this is the case.  If it is not I can verify on another system.
