Hello Team,

I'm currently having difference in amount shown in Inventory aging and Trial balance accounts.

can you please help me with ways to check? its difficult to check vouchers posted in TB vs the inventory item in the aging report.

also, client only do recalculation every month without closing - will this have an effect?

there are no direct postings in GL.

Thanks,

Ace

    Hello Ace,

Can you please check the transaction and posting types used for the transactions posted on your inventory accounts that you selected in your reports? Can you identify manual transactions posted on those accounts?

Also, can you let us know why the inventory is never closed?

From a valuation perspective an inventory close should not give you a different result than an inventory recalculation but it is better to regularly close inventory to avoid things - among others - such as backdating transactions.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

thank you for your response. i have checked the manual entries and tried to remove this amounts to compare it with Inventory aging, however still there are huge differences.

Can you please let me know how to identify ledger posting types that is related to inventory aging? e.g. packing slip

    Hi Manabat,

What you can do is first identifying the accounts used in the inventory posting matrix available in inventory/setup/posting/posting.

Simply list those accounts and then use the GL voucher transactions inquiry form to see if somebody made some manual postings on those accounts.

Manual postings can be identified by the transaction and posting type fields used and are recorded with the voucher.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Manabat,

could you try potential conflict report under inventory value report? this report can provide you some hints on the difference between inventory and G/L

    Hi All,

Same Issue with me if someone can update here so that in the future new user will follow this to resolve the issue.

I am running Potential Conflict Report getting this Warning "The posting type Product receipt has been posted to a main account that does not represent inventory."

    If someone can help!

    Best Regards,

    Shabir Ahmad
