Marketing Form - Let user select Option Set choices

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

I'm working on D365 Marketing and created several Marketing Forms Templates.

I want to add the same Option Set (single choice dropdown) on each form template but would like to be able (and the users in the future) to select the available choices in this Option Set depending on the form.

The only way I found to acheive it it to edit the HTML code but users won't accept that.

An example to clarify if needed : I want to submit a form to the Cabin Crew of an Airline company. So there is no need to display "Pilot" and "Navigator" in the Option Set requesting their role in the company.

We can select the default value for an Option Set, is there a way to select/unselect the choices ?

Many thanks for your help and any info on this topic!

    Hi David,

I see that you have not received a proper answer to your issue. I don't know if you have solved this yet, but assuming you haven't here's my take.

Answer: What you are trying to achieve is not possible. If you add an Option-Set field it will always show all the values.

You would need to create 2 different forms with 2 different Option-Sets.

Then on the form, you can create a business rule to hide the field that does not contain value or just keep it visible.

OR (what I would probably do) you could keep both fields hidden on the form and create a 3rd field with all the Options and then set a rule or use a workflow to sum up the value in that field.

    Does that make sense?

If this answers your question, please click "Yes". :)

    Hope it works for you!

RE: Marketing Form - Let user select Option Set choices

    Hi Nya,

    Thanks for your interest !

Let's take the example of the Airline company:

I have an Option Set with the different jobs in the company

    - Pilot

    - Navigator

    - Steward/Stewardess

    - Gate Crew

    - Engine Mechanic

    - Accountant

I want to send one form to "Flight Crew" (Pilots, Navigators, Stewards) and one form to "Ground Crew" (Gate Crew Members, Engine Mechanics, Accountants).

Each form will contain the Job Option Set.

I would like to be able to select which relevant choices should be displayed in the Option Set (without editing the HTML, as the users will have to do it themselves) depending on the form: no need to display "Engine Mechanics" or "Accountants" on the form intended for "Flight Crew", for example.

Many thanks again for you help,

    David

    Hi David,

    I can't understand you well.

Do you mean you'd like to set different default value for different contacts who open the form?
