Request/Entitlement limits D365 Online

Hi everyone,

We are looking at moving to D365 online and have come across the Request/Entitlements limit.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/api-request-limits-allocations

I can see a 100,000 limit for non-interactive accounts, our CRM is heavily connected with other internal systems for data integration so we currently have service accounts that process a lot of operations, a lot more than 100k/per 24hr.

The link above does not really detail what happens if that is breached (apart from the power platform admin being notified) nor list the cost for going over the limit.

It says this was being enforced from Oct 2019, does anyone have any more details of this or experience?

Thanks!

    Hi,

Answer to your query is available in the link you shared. Let me elaborate further.

You can buy add-on for each user which gives you additional 10k requests per 24hr. You can buy multiple add-ons (each add-on adds 10k more to your base capaicty).

Lets assume, your daily usage is 130,000 requests per 24 hour:

    • Base Request Capacity: 100,000 per 24hr.
    • Buy 3 add-on: 10,000 X 3 = 30,000 per 24hr.
    • Total Capacity =   130,000 per 24hr.

However, i will not overlook following note:

    Important Note:

Power Apps and Power Automate capacity add-ons cannot be assigned to users yet. Assignment will be possible later in calendar year 2020. When supported these may be assigned to application and administrative and non-interactive users.

Here are few extracts from the link:

    • After base request capacity is exhausted (100,000), customers can increase this capacity by purchasing a Power Apps and Power Automate capacity add-on.
    • Each capacity add-on provides an additional 10,000 requests/24 hours which can be assigned to any user. Multiple capacity add-ons can also be assigned to the same user.

One more thing, your integration does not stop when capacity is finished, Microsoft keeps some buffer.

I understand managing or buying add-on is not an ideal scenario when request count is way higher (as in your case). I would suggest you to talk to your partner or Microsoft and see if they can help you with a custom plan to suite your needs.

    Feel free to discuss further.

    Best,

    Wahaj

Thanks Wahaj, I saw the add on that is available for extra 10k but I was more interested in the details i.e. how much is that, has anyone actually been penalised or had integrations stop as they past the 100k limit.

We are trying to get answers from MS as well at the moment but that can prove to be difficult at times so wanted to check if the community had any experiences.

    Hi,

As far as I experienced, integration do not stop if we exceed the limit (but we slightly went over the limit).

However, in your scenario,  i would suggest to listen from Microsoft before you plan.

    Best,

    Wahaj
