What is the msdyn_TESA solution? It is causing issues!

I recently applied the most recent update for PSA to a client's environment. After which the Quick Create form for Time Entries was blank.

Looking at the new Solutions installed by the update I found a solution called msdyn_TESA and it has a Quick Create form that is blank it in. Somehow this was showing to the users instead of the standard Quick form they were using.

The solution to this issue was an easy fix by removing the TESA Quick Create form from the Model-driven app. However, I do wonder what else this has the update broken. And what is the TESA solution for? Just a little frustrated....

Hi Partner,

Yes we do obsrve some issue with the latenst upgrade of PSA version, After upgrading to Wave 1 (April Wave) Early Access, Users may run into issues with time entries not showing up in their Project Service views or failing to approve correctly

As far as I know TESA solution has been introduced as a part of solution layering, this will be placed below the PSA solution.

Hamish Sheild TESA is the platform horizontal for Time, Expense, Status and Approval. I.e time entries in PSA and Fields Service.

Are there any release notes with details of what changes are made when a new update of PSA is rolled out? I haven't been able to find anything detailed online but I might be looking in the wrong place. This release broke 2 things in my client's PSA configuration where I had to hide the new blank Quick Create form for Project Approvals and then also update the security roles to include access to a new entity called Time Settings (or similar) which the Time Entry form now relies upon. It would have been good to have even a vague idea about these before I installed the release and crossed my finger that it wouldn't cause issues...

This has broken our system as well, and worse because we cannot remove or disable the blank forms from our system. Go into the model driven app we use and it's all read-only. Crazy, crazy, crazy. No wonder we don't like cloud providers pushing out changes automatically.

We've logged a critical call.....

We have found another issue with TESA solution.

The NEW button for the time entries appears and disappears when we change the view,

This may not help you but our problem was solved. While this solution sits below the PSA solution is sits above any custom apps, which we do have as a single app mapped to our business model. What happened to us is that TESA overrode the visible forms in our app. Maybe it's doing the same with views for you?
