Consolidated company within a Consolidated Company (?)

Hi,

We have this scenario:

Business Unit A and Business Unit B = Consolidated 1

Is it possible to have Consolidated 1 (setup as Business Unit) to join with Business Unit C and Business Unit D to form MAIN Consolidated Company?

Drawing the structure seems possible BUT I have not heard of any NAV implementation made this way? Any of you had the same or similar scenario when using Consolidations?

Thank you.

It is totally possible, as the consolidation is made on G/L transactions level, you can setup numerous consolidation companies. Just make the consolidation in a correct sequence order. Follow msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168984(v=nav.90).aspx to make needed setup.

    Hi Serendipity,

Yes, that is possible. And we have several clients in North America who routinely perform similar multi-level consolidation using standard NAV Consolidation functionality.

What you will want to do is make sure that you run consolidation for Consolidated 1 first before running consolidation in MAIN for 1, C, and D. Otherwise, you may see incorrect (outdated) information being pulled from Consolidated 1.

    I hope this helps.
