Hi, Forum
Is it true that there is no need of "comparing and merging" process when we upgrade NAV2013 database into NAV2015. I mean to say can we direct open NAV2013 database into NAV2015 database.

Yes, you can directly open the 2013 database in 2015 for the data upgrade, the below link will help you for 2013 to 2015 data upgrade
https://community.dynamics.com/nav/f/34/t/160515
But for 2009 database first you need to convert in 2013 and then 2015, refer the below for 2009 to 2015
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/nav/archive/2015/02/23/upgrading-from-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2009-r2-or-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2009-sp1-to-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2015.aspx

Hi, Mohana
Suppose I have to upgrade NAV2009 database into NAV2015 then I think we have to follow the "comparing and merging" process. And then my question is can we have to firstly upgrade NAV2009 DB into NAV2009R2 DB and then NAV2009R2 DB into NAV2013 DB and then NAV2013 DB into NAV2013R2 DB and then finally NAV2013R2 DB into NAV2015 DB. I think it is so lengthy process. So can we directly upgrade NAV2009 DB into NAV2015.
It will be called client technical upgrade only but if you want to have new features and bug fixes then you need to do comparing and merging.
