Easy to way to remove things from Timeline

Hello,

I have tried searching around for an easy way to remove certain emails/items from a timeline for a case in Dynamics and I only came across what seem to be overly complicated solutions such as creating a workflow just to do this. Also I have tried updating the regarding field of the emails on the timeline and that does not seem to work as the email in question is set to read-only. I am wondering why the timeline just doesn't have something like a "delete from timeline" button because that is all I am trying to do really. I would appreciate any insight on this.

    Hi DynamicJohn,

    in regard to your question it's possible to have a "delete" button even for timeline e-Mail interactions/items (ref. Dynamics 365 Sales). To enable this "button" you need to navigate in the "new" Power Apps Designer in the corresponding environment to the specific Table-->Form-->Timeline and mark the timeline itself. On the right side in the properties tab navigate to the activities and mark the Mail-Activity. In the options for the Mail-Activity enable the needed delete "button" as shown in the below image:

    1) Setup correct values

    2) Delete button appears in the timeline even for e-Mail items:

    Even if you are using Dynamics CRM as predecessor of Dynamics 365 Sales you can give it a try.

    HI - does this remove the email from everywhere or just from the timeline?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately you don't have option to Delete Email record directly from Timeline.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../add-activities

    You will have to open the record then click on Delete button from ribbon to delete the record from the system. Make sure you have appropriate permission to delete the record.

    Hi,

    Do you not have the option/permissions to delete the emails when you open it within the timeline? Most other timeline records have the delete button on the record within the timeline.
